9th grade English 9 students are practicing for the ISASP Language Test which assesses students' writing and grammar skills. "The practice allows them to become familiar with the format of the test," said English teacher Stephanie Scholl, "When they sit down for the real assessment, they will know how to navigate the screen. Hopefully, it calms some nerves and increases their confidence." Students are given 60 minutes to complete the reading comprehension and math tests and 75 minutes to complete the writing portion.

The Riverhawks bounced back from a tough 29-7 loss to Central Springs to win a thrilling 22-21 game against Indianola Friday night in their second week of the season. Sam Collins led the charge with 19 points, including two key tries, as William Bielefeld’s game-winning 80-meter return secured the dramatic victory.

Ava Benson is 15 years old. She joined the Riverhawk Press to become better at writing. “I’m in the yearbook class and wanted to get into journalism because I like the news. I want to know what’s happening in the world and students’ lives.” This is also Ava’s first year on the Riverhawk Girls Swim Team. She likes working and plans to take her CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) to work at a nursing home.
