The Key Club at Mason City High School hosted a food drive, hoping to make a difference in our community by donating to those in need. It was a partnership with the Hawkeye Harvest Food Bank.
“The food drive was very successful,” Junior Kaitlyn Thangaraj who helped put this all together. “We got over $50 and around 75 items of food!”
The top staff member and top two students who brought in the most donations received a special prize, consisting of a variety of gift cards from local businesses. Everyone who contributed received a sweet treat as an extra incentive. The Key Club says they took on the project because donations tend to slow down during this time of year.
