Picture Day is a prominent day for schools nationwide. It offers students opportunities to portray their personalities and distinctiveness at the start of a new school year.
“I want to look good,” said Jaasiel Saavedra, a junior, dressed in button-up blue and tie.
During the first week at Mason City High School, students of all grades were required to have their pictures taken by Strawbridge Studios in the FEMA Room. This ensures their pictures are up to date for records and they make it into the yearbook at the end of the year.
This was the final year for Senior Kayetlynn Feilds to pose for a portrait. She appreciated how photographers allowed her to take multiple photographs. They had computers nearby so students could approve or request a retake.
“I wanted to see my picture to see if it turned out right,” Kayetlynn said, “I was having trouble having my picture taken, and we took about four pictures. I thought that the last photo would be good, but it turns out the first picture was better, so I just went with the first picture.
According to Strawbridge, photos should arrive 2-3 weeks after picture day.
