About the Contributor
Ja'Mariah Williams, Writer
Ja’Mariah Williams is a sophomore at MCHS. She’s been in Mason City for about 8 years. She loves food, music, and art. When she gets older, she plans on traveling so she can learn more about food, music, and art in different places around the world. So far, Ja’Mariah has been to Texas and her birth state of Illinois.
Ja’Mariah’s biggest goal is to graduate and possibly get her AA degree while in high school. Afterward, she’d like to move out of Iowa and go to a 4-year Historically Black College University for real estate, OB/GYN, or business. Ja’Mariah wants to learn more about black culture. “I heard HBCUs are fun to go to and I can learn more than what is just taught during Black History Month.”
Ja’Mariah is taking Journalism Class because she wants people to know what’s going on in their school and she likes taking pictures. She hopes it leads to building new connections and friendships and learning about the field of journalism.
