On April 30th, 2026, Ames High held a student art conference where art creations were displayed in 13 categories and voted on for student choice, best of category, and honorable mention awards. MCHS, Ames, and Marshalltown all sent in 35 pieces. Out of the 27 total awards, MCHS was awarded 7 of them by a judge from Ames High. “I’m very proud of the hard work and dedication and amount of time that my kids put into their projects,” said Alison Dannen MCHS Art teacher, “I think the quality of their work of art compared to the other districts held its own. And I was happy to see seven of our works of art be recognized with ribbons.”
