The Riverhawk Football Team pulled out a trick play that helped them win the first game against Marshalltown on August 30th with a play called “Bobcat”.
Quarterback, Dane Hanson (Junior) passed the ball to Drew Hobart who then saw that Drayden Witt was wide open.
“There were 30 seconds on the board and we had to do something special,” said Hobart. “I knew Drayden could get open ’cause I knew the corners collapsed. I saw him wide open. I threw it as far as I could. He scored. It was perfect.”
Drayden Witt caught the ball and ran in a 75-yard run touchdown.
“I just didn’t want to drop it,” said Witt. “When I saw the ball come in, I thought, ‘I’m gonna catch this’.”
Hobart says he thought it was pretty cool because back when he played YSF (Youth Sports Foundation) football, he was the quarterback and threw touchdowns to Witt all the time.
